ACHIEVEMENTS

In recent past, due to sustained efforts, CENWOSTO has achieved following milestones which have not only brought the laurels to this technical unit but also provided the various kinds of Hi-tech gadgets to the field formations of Border Security Force as force multiplier.

ESTABLISHMENT OF CNC WORKSHOP IN CENWOSTO

Establishment of CNC workshop in CENWOSTO is another feather in the cap. CENWOSTO has started production using CNC Machines to fabricate required small arms components of in service weapons. Consequent upon successful installation and commissioning of CNC machines, The fabrication work at five small arms workshops have been closed and the entire load of these workshops has been taken over by CENWOSTO during the year 2007-08. In the year 2012-13, CENWOSTO fabricated total 40279 Nos of SA components and completed its allotted target well before the time i.e. 31st Mar’2013.

ESTABLISHMENT OF TFS PLANT
  • ENWOSTO has attained capabilities of independently replacing the TFS in 51mm Mor. sights by procuring radioactive source from BRIT (Board of Radio Isotopes and Technology), a sub unit of BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Center). The laboratory has been established according to AERB norms. On 11 May’ 2007, the Director General, BSF visited CENWOSTO to inaugurate Tritium Filled Source Plant (TFS).  The Director General briefed the personnel on this occasion and appreciated the efforts of CENWOSTO towards modernization.

  • CENWOSTO has attained capabilities of replacing the TFS in 51mm Mor. Sight, Collimator Infinity Aiming Reference 102A;Mount & Dial Sight 104A of 105 mm Arty Guns by procuring radioactive source from BRIT (Board of Radio Isotopes and Technology), a sub unit of BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Center). The laboratory has been established according to AERB norms.
